Online Versus Face-to-Face Responsible Service of Alcohol Qld Courses
The Responsible Service of Alcohol Qld training course is mandatory in Queensland for service staff and professionals who work in the hospitality industry, particularly, on jobs that require them to serve alcohol to customers.
It was previously a course that was taught face to face with a registered training institution or RTO. The face to face training could take from six hours to three days, depending on your chosen program. The new online courses however are shorter and can be completed in three to four hours. All you need are the necessary hardware and a reliable Internet connection.
There are various RTOs that offer the RSA program all over Australia. Just be sure they are accredited by the state’s liquor governing body. In Queensland, responsible service of alcohol is under the jurisdiction of the Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing or OLGR.
The certificate you get after the course is going to be your ticket to working as a bartender, or any position in the hospitality industry that serves liquor. However, people with certificates earned in other Australian territories need to enroll to a bridge program for them to get a valid Queensland RSA. Responsible Service of Alcohol is a mandatory course. Certain sanctions and fines are imposed on business establishments with liquor-serving staff members who have not finished the RSA program.
